حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّتْ بِهِ جَنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ، فَقَامَ: فَقِيلَ لَهُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهَا جَنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ لِلْمَوْتِ فَزَعًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Jewish funeral passed by the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) stood up. Someone said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), this is the funeral of a Jew." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Because there is a distress of death."
