حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْعَجْلَانَ (٢) ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ؟ فَقَالَ: " أَنَا، وَالَّذِينَ مَعِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ عَلَى الْأَثَرِ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ (٣) عَلَى الْأَثَرِ "، ثُمَّ كَأَنَّهُ رَفَضَ مَنْ بَقِيَ (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), who is the best of people?" The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "I and my companions, then those who will come after us, then those who will come after them." After that, the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) stopped.
