حَدَّثَنَا فَزَارَةُ، أَخْبَرَنَا فُلَيْحٌ، وَسُرَيْجٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " الشَّيْخُ يَكْبَرُ وَيَضْعُفُ جِسْمُهُ، وَقَلْبُهُ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ: طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ، وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ "، قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ: " حُبِّ الْحَيَاةِ، وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: As a person grows old, his body becomes weak, but two things in him remain youthful: the love for a long life and the abundance of wealth and property.
