حَدَّثَنَا فَزَارَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ فِيمَا (٣) مَضَى قَبْلَكُمْ مِنَ الْأُمَمِ نَاسٌ يُحَدَّثُونَ، وَإِنَّهُ إِنْ كَانَ فِي أُمَّتِي هَذِهِ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ، فَإِنَّهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ "، (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Among the previous nations, there used to be some people who were Muhaddath (inspired by Allah). If there is any such person in my Ummah, it is Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).
