حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ الْأَعْوَرِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَوْ كُنْتُ مُؤَمِّرًا أَحَدًا مِنْ أُمَّتِي مِنْ غَيْرِ مَشُورَةٍ، لَأَمَّرْتُ عَلَيْهِمُ ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: `If I were to appoint anyone to a position of authority without consultation, I would have appointed Ibn Umm `Abd (Abdullah bin Mas`ood).`
