حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ شَاذَانُ (٢) ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ، ، ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ "، " كَانَ يَقُولُ لِفَتَاهُ: إِذَا أَتَيْتَ مُعْسِرًا فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْهُ، لَعَلَّ اللهَ يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنَّا، فَلَقِيَ اللهَ، فَتَجَاوَزَ عَنْهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: In earlier times there was a man who used to lend money to people, and he would say to his servant, "When you go to collect a debt from someone in difficulty, show leniency to him; perhaps Allah will show leniency to us." So (after his death) when he met Allah, Allah showed leniency to him (forgave him).
