حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْتِي دَارَ قَوْمٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَدُونَهُمْ دَارٌ، قَالَ: فَشَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللهِ (١) تَأْتِي دَارَ فُلَانٍ، وَلَا تَأْتِي دَارَنَا، فقَالَ: فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "، ، لِأَنَّ فِي دَارِكُمْ كَلْبًا "، قَالُوا: فَإِنَّ فِي دَارِهِمْ سِنَّوْرًا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ السِّنَّوْرَ سَبُعٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) used to visit the house of an Ansari. There was another house behind theirs. This was burdensome for those people and they said, "O Messenger of Allah! You visit so-and-so's house but do not visit our house?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The reason is that there is a dog in your house." They said, "But there is a cat in those people's house as well." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A cat is (such) a beast (that does not prevent the angels of mercy from entering)."
