Original Arabic

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا مَا أَحَدُكُمُ اشْتَرَى لِقْحَةً مُصَرَّاةً، أَوْ شَاةً مُصَرَّاةً، فَهُوَ بِخَيْرِ النَّظَرَيْنِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يَحْلُبَهَا إِمَّا، ، هِي (١) وَإِلَّا فَلْيَرُدَّهَا وَصَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ (٢) "،

Translation

English translation

And the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: Whoever (being deceived) buys a she-camel or a goat whose teats have been tied, then he has the choice of two things, whichever is better for him: either he keeps the animal with himself (and settles the matter), or he returns the animal to its owner and gives along with it one sa’ of dates.
