Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُدْرِكٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُجَيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَلائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلا صُورَةٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) from the Prophet (ﷺ), that He said:
“The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.”
