Original Arabic
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ، فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ (١) الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ بِسُؤَالِهِمْ وَاخْتِلَافِهِمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ، فَإِذَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ، فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ، وَإِذَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِأَمْرٍ (٢) ، فَأْتَمِرُوا مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
And the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When I leave you regarding a matter, then you too leave me regarding it, because the nations before you were destroyed only due to asking too many questions and differing with their prophets. Whatever I forbid you from, abstain from it, and whatever I command you, do it to the best of your ability.
