Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْقُمِّيِّ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ زِيَادُ بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ: " وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي فِي حَيِّزٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، مَعِي مَا يُصْلِحُنِي، لَا أُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُونِي " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
Ziyad bin Hudair says that my wish is that I be in some iron place where I have only the necessities with me, neither do I speak to anyone nor does anyone speak to me.
