حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ " قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ: " فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ سَكْرَانَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ، فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever drinks alcohol, flog him. If he drinks again, then flog him again. If he drinks a third time, then flog him again. And if he drinks a fourth time, then kill him. Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) says: However, a man was brought to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) who had drunk alcohol for the fourth time, yet the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) let him go.
