حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُتَيْبَةُ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ أَصْرَمَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، يَقُولُ: مَاتَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ، وَتَرَكَ دِينَارَيْنِ، أَوْ دِرْهَمَيْنِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " كَيَّتَانِ، صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Buraid bin Asram said:
I heard `Ali (رضي الله عنه) say: A man of Ahlus-Suffah died and left behind two dinars or two dirhams. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: `Two brands of iron; offer the funeral prayer for your companion.`
