Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " لَا يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ مَاءٍ لِيُمْنَعَ بِهِ فَضْلُ الْكَلَإِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated, most likely as a marfu’ hadith, from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that surplus water should not be withheld so that surplus grass may be withheld.
