Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to lead us in prayer. Whenever he would stand up, or go into bowing (ruku'), or after rising from bowing intended to go into prostration (sajdah), or after raising his head from one prostration wanted to perform the second prostration, or when he would sit in the sitting position (qa'dah), or stand up for the second rak'ah, at every occasion he would say the takbeer. Similarly, in the other rak'ahs as well, he would say the takbeer. And when he would finish the prayer with salam, he would say: "By Allah, among you I am the one who most closely resembles the prayer of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). His prayer was always like this until he departed from this world."
