حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " احْتَجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى، فَقَالَ مُوسَى لِآدَمَ: يَا آدَمُ، أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَدْخَلْتَ ذُرِّيَّتَكَ النَّارَ؟ فَقَالَ آدَمُ: يَا مُوسَى، اصْطَفَاكَ اللهُ بِرِسَالَتِهِ (١) وَبِكَلَامِهِ، وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ التَّوْرَاةَ، فَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَنِّي أَهْبِطُ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ "، قَالَ: " فَحَجَّهُ آدَمُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Once, in the realm of souls, there was a debate between Adam and Musa (peace be upon them). Musa (peace be upon him) said, "O Adam! Are you the one who caused your descendants to enter Hell?" Adam (peace be upon him) replied, "O Musa! Allah chose you for His message and to speak with Him, and He revealed the Torah to you. Did you see me descended upon the earth?" He said, "Yes." In this way, Adam (peace be upon him) prevailed over Musa (peace be upon him).
