حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنِ اتَّخَذَ كَلْبًا، إِلَّا كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ أَوْ زَرْعٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ: نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever keeps a dog for purposes other than hunting or guarding fields or herds, then his reward will decrease by one qirat every day.
