حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَدَّادُ، كُوفِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي، لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ بِوُضُوءٍ - أَوْ مَعَ (١) كُلِّ وُضُوءٍ بِسِوَاكٍ (٢) - وَلَأَخَّرْتُ عِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةِ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: If I did not fear hardship for my ummah, I would have ordered them to use the miswak at the time of every prayer and to delay the Isha prayer until one third or half of the night had passed.
