حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " النَّاسُ مَعَادِنُ، تَجِدُونَ خِيَارَهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ خِيَارَهُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: People are like hidden treasures (mines). You will find that those who were the best in the time of ignorance are also the best in the time of Islam, provided they become learned in religion.
