حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ الْهُذَلِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: لَوْ رَأَيْتُ الْأَرْوَى تَجُوسُ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا - يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ - مَا هِجْتُهَا وَلَا مَسِسْتُهَا، وَذَلِكَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُحَرِّمُ شَجَرَهَا أَنْ يُخْبَطَ أَوْ يُعْضَدَ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that if I were to see a mountain goat wandering in Madinah Munawwarah, even then I would neither frighten it nor touch it, because I have heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) declare it forbidden to break the leaves of the trees of Madinah or to pluck its thorns.
