Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ حَنَشٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا جَلَسَ إِلَيْكَ الْخَصْمَانِ، فَلا تَكَلَّمْ حَتَّى تَسْمَعَ مِنَ الْآخَرِ، كَمَا سَمِعْتَ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “If two disputants sit before you, do not speak until you have listened to the second one as you listened to the first.`
