English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse was revealed: "Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it..." this was very hard on the Muslims and various kinds of doubts began to arise in their hearts. They complained about this to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), so the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Remain close to good deeds and stay on the straight path and right word, because whatever hardship befalls a Muslim, it becomes an expiation for his sins, even the wound that he receives or the thorn that pricks him (that too becomes an expiation for his sins).
