Translation
English translation
It is narrated marfu‘an from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that surplus water should not be withheld so that grass may be withheld. The narrator of the hadith, Sufyan, explains its meaning as follows: If there is grass near your well and you prevent people from taking more water than they need, then those people will not come there again to graze their animals.
