Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: By Allah! It is much better that one of you takes a rope, gathers firewood, carries it on his back, sells it, and eats from what he earns or gives it in charity, rather than going to someone whom Allah has granted wealth and property out of His bounty and asking him for something—whether he gives him something or not—because the upper hand is better than the lower hand.
