حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَمَّا مَاتَ النَّجَاشِيُّ، (٢)، ، أَخْبَرَهُمْ أَنَّهُ قَدْ مَاتَ، فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لَهُ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the King of Abyssinia, Najashi, passed away, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) informed the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of his passing. Consequently, the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) sought forgiveness for him.
