حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ (١) " - كَذَاكَ عِلْمِي -، قَالُوا: إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ؟ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Protect yourselves from fasting continuously for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor)." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said this twice. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! You yourself fast continuously in this manner?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied: "In this matter, I am not like you. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds and gives me drink."
