Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting with the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) when a Bedouin man came, wearing a very expensive cloak with buttons of brocade and silk. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Your companion has completely adopted the style of Fāris ibn Fāris (a pure Persian man); it seems as if only Persian children will be born to him and the lineage of shepherds will come to an end." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) gathered the cloak from different parts and said: "I do not see the clothing of fools on your body?" Then he said: "When the time of death of Allah's Prophet Nuh (peace be upon him) approached, he said to his son: 'I am making a will to you in which I command you to do two things and forbid you from two things. I command you to keep affirming La ilaha illallah, for if the seven heavens and the seven earths were placed on one side of the scale and La ilaha illallah on the other, the side with La ilaha illallah would outweigh the other. And if the seven heavens and the seven earths were a closed ring, La ilaha illallah would break it. And the second is that you should keep reciting Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi, for this is the prayer of everything and through it the creation receives sustenance."
