English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the year of the Battle of Tabuk, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) woke up for the Tahajjud prayer, and many companions (may Allah be pleased with them) gathered behind the Prophet (ﷺ) out of concern for his protection. When the Prophet (ﷺ) finished the prayer, he turned towards them and said: "Tonight, five virtues have been given to me which were not given to anyone before me. Thus, I have been sent as a Prophet to all of humanity in general, whereas before me, a Prophet used to be sent to a specific nation. I have been helped against the enemy through awe, so much so that if there is a distance of a month's journey between me and the enemy, he is filled with awe. The spoils of war have been made completely lawful for me, whereas before me, the noble Prophets (peace be upon them) considered it a great sin to consume it, so they would burn it. Then, the entire earth has been made a mosque and a means of purification for me; wherever the time of prayer comes, I perform tayammum on the earth and pray. Before me, the noble Prophets (peace be upon them) considered this a great matter, so they would only pray in their churches and places of worship. And the fifth virtue is the greatest, and that is that I have been told to ask, because every Prophet has asked, but I have postponed my request until the Day of Resurrection, the benefit of which will be for you and for every person who bears witness that there is no god but Allah."
