حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَشْيَبُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ (١) يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُثْمَانَ الرَّحَبِيَّ، عَنْ حِبَّانَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِي، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى مِنْبَرِهِ يَقُولُ: " ارْحَمُوا تُرْحَمُوا، وَاغْفِرُوا يَغْفِرِ اللهُ لَكُمْ (٢) ، وَيْلٌ لِأَقْمَاعِ الْقَوْلِ، وَيْلٌ لِلْمُصِرِّينَ، الَّذِينَ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said from the pulpit: "Show mercy, you will be shown mercy; forgive, Allah will forgive you. Destruction is for those who only possess the weapon of words. Destruction is for those who knowingly persist and remain steadfast in their sins."
