Translation

English translation

A noble man from Nakh'a says that once I entered the mosque of Al-Aqsa and offered two rak'ahs behind a pillar. During this, a man came and stood near me to pray. People turned their attention towards him. Later, it became known that he was Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him). A messenger from Yazid came to him and said that the Commander of the Faithful is calling you. He replied: "This person prevents me from narrating hadiths to you just as his father used to prevent me, and I heard your Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) supplicating: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that is not beneficial, from a supplication that is not accepted, from a heart that is devoid of humility and submission, and from a soul that is never satisfied. I seek refuge in You from these four things."
