حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، وَبَهْزٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَبَّاسِ، - وَكَانَ رَجُلًا شَاعِرًا - سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَاسْتَأْذَنَهُ فِي الْجِهَادِ، فَقَالَ: " أَحَيٌّ وَالِدَاكَ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ " (٢) قَالَ بَهْزٌ: أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ (٣) ،، ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, seeking permission to participate in jihad. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: "Are your parents alive?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Then go and strive in service to them."
