حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ (١) : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " خُذُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ: مِنَ ابْنِ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ - فَبَدَأَ بِهِ -، وَمِنْ مُعَاذِ (٢) بْنِ جَبَلٍ، وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ " (٣)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Learn the Qur'an from four persons, and he first mentioned Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), then Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), and then Salim (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him)."
