Musnad Ahmad Hadith 6775

It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), "In how many days should I complete the recitation of the Qur'an?" Then he mentioned the complete hadith and said: "In seven days, and whoever recites it in less than three days does not understand it." I asked, "How should I fast?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Fast three days every month; one fast will be counted as ten days, and for you, the reward of nine days will be written in addition." I said, "I have the strength for more than that." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Then fast two days in ten days, and for you, the reward of eight days will be written." This continued until the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) reached five days.
