Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that once the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, came to know that I said: "I will always fast during the day and stand in prayer at night." Once the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Are you the one who says that you will stand in prayer every night and fast every day?" I replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah! I am the one who said this." The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "You do not have the strength for this. Therefore, stand in prayer and also sleep, fast and also leave fasting, and fast only three days in every month, for the reward of one good deed is tenfold." Then the narrator mentioned the complete hadith.
