حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ، ، شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَوْمًا يَتَدَارَءُونَ (١) ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِهَذَا، ضَرَبُوا كِتَابَ اللهِ بَعْضَهُ بِبَعْضٍ، وَإِنَّمَا نَزَلَ كِتَابُ اللهِ يُصَدِّقُ بَعْضُهُ بَعْضًا، فَلَا تُكَذِّبُوا بَعْضَهُ بِبَعْضٍ، فَمَا عَلِمْتُمْ مِنْهُ فَقُولُوا، وَمَا جَهِلْتُمْ، فَكِلُوهُ إِلَى عَالِمِهِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saw some people arguing with each other, so he said: "The previous nations were destroyed for this very reason that they struck one part of their books against another. The Qur'an was not revealed in such a way that one part of it would belie another; rather, it confirms each other. Therefore, act upon whatever knowledge you have, and as for what you do not know, ask those who have knowledge about it."
