Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that As bin Wa'il had vowed to sacrifice one hundred camels during the time of ignorance. One of his sons, Hisham bin As, sacrificed fifty camels as his share. The other son, Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), asked the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) about this matter. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "If your father had affirmed the Oneness of Allah, then whatever fasts and charity you performed on his behalf would have benefited him (but since he did not accept Islam, what benefit would he receive)?"
