Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي حُيَيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ،، ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِابْنٍ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا يَقْرَأُ الْمُصْحَفَ بِالنَّهَارِ، وَيَبِيتُ بِاللَّيْلِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا (١) تَنْقِمُ أَنَّ ابْنَكَ يَظَلُّ ذَاكِرًا، وَيَبِيتُ سَالِمًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, bringing his son and said, "O Messenger of Allah! This son of mine recites the Qur'an during the day and sleeps at night." The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If he spends the whole day in remembrance and the night in safety, then why are you angry with him?"
