وسَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو، يَقُولُ: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا كَالْمُوَدِّعِ، فَقَالَ: " أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ النَّبِيُّ الْأُمِّيُّ " - قَالَهُ (١) ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ - " وَلَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي، أُوتِيتُ فَوَاتِحَ الْكَلِمِ وَخَوَاتِمَهُ وَجَوَامِعَهُ، وَعَلِمْتُ كَمْ خَزَنَةُ النَّارِ وَحَمَلَةُ الْعَرْشِ، وَتُجُوِّزَ بِي، وَعُوفِيتُ، وَعُوفِيَتْ أُمَّتِي، فَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا مَا دُمْتُ فِيكُمْ، فَإِذَا ذُهِبَ بِي، فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِكِتَابِ اللهِ، أَحِلُّوا حَلَالَهُ، وَحَرِّمُوا حَرَامَهُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) came to us in such a manner as if someone bidding farewell, and he said three times: "I am Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and there will be no prophet after me. I have been given the initial words, the concluding words, and the comprehensive words. I know how many are the angels who guard Hell and how many are the angels who bear the Throne of Allah. The limits have been set for me. Safety has been granted to me and my Ummah. Therefore, as long as I am among you, listen to and obey my words, and when I am taken away, hold fast to the Book of Allah. Consider its lawful as lawful and its unlawful as unlawful."
