Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that Jews used to come to the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and say "Sam Alaik" (death be upon you). Then they would say in their hearts: Why does Allah not punish us for what we say? Upon this, the following verse was revealed: When they come to you, they greet you in a manner in which Allah has not greeted you.
