Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ حَصِيرَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " كَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَرُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، لَكُمْ رُبُعُهَا، وَلِسَائِرِ النَّاسِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَرْبَاعِهَا؟ "، قَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: " فَكَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَثُلُثَهَا؟ " قَالُوا: فَذَاكَ أَكْثَرُ قَالَ: " فَكَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَالشَّطْرَ؟ " قَالُوا: فَذَلِكَ أَكْثَرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ أَنْتُمْ مِنْهَا ثَمَانُونَ صَفًّا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Mas’ood said:
A man from among Ahlus-Suffah died and they found two dinars in his cloak. They mentioned that to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: Two brands of fire."
