Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ، أَنَّ شَقِيقَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " بِئْسَمَا لِلرَّجُلِ، أَوْ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يَقُولَ: نَسِيتُ سُورَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ أَوْ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ (١) بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ood (رضي الله عنه) that
It was said: O Messenger of Allah, on the Day of Resurrection, how will you recognize those of your ummah whom you have not seen? He said: “They will have shining faces and limbs because of the traces of wudoo’.”
