Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " قَرَأَ النَّجْمَ، فَسَجَدَ فِيهَا وَمَنْ مَعَهُ "، إِلَّا شَيْخٌ (١) كَبِيرٌ أَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصًى، أَوْ تُرَابٍ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: بِهِ هَكَذَا، وَضَعَهُ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ، قَالَ: فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ قُتِلَ كَافِرًا (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated "Abdullah bin Mas'ood said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Beware of these two marked cubes that are thrown (i.e. dice), for they are the gambling of the non-Arabs.”
