Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا مِنْ حَكَمٍ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ، إِلَّا حُبِسَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَلَكٌ آخِذٌ بِقَفَاهُ، حَتَّى يَقِفَهُ عَلَى جَهَنَّمَ، ثُمَّ يَرْفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، فَإِنْ قَالَ:، ، الْخَطَأَ، أَلْقَاهُ فِي جَهَنَّمَ، يَهْوِي أَرْبَعِينَ خَرِيفًا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from ”Abdullah bin Ma'qil that
His father Maʼqil bin Muqarrin al-Muzani said to Ibn Mas'ood (رضي الله عنه): Did you hear The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Regret is repentance"? He said Yes.
