Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنِّي أَبْرَأُ إِلَى كُلِّ خَلِيلٍ مِنْ خِلِّهِ (٢) ، وَلَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا (٣) ، لَاتَّخَذْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ، ، خَلِيلًا، وَإِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ خَلِيلُ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) from
The Prophet (ﷺ) that he used to say: "O Allah, I ask You for piety, guidance, abstinence (from that which is haram and inappropriate) and independence of means.”
