حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ، إِلَّا وَمَعَهُ قَرِينُهُ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ، وَمِنَ الْجِنِّ "، قَالُوا: أَوَأَنْتَ (٢) يَا رَسُولَ، ، اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " وَأَنَا، إِلَّا أَنَّ اللهَ أَعَانَنِي عَلَيْهِ فَأَسْلَمَ، وَلَا (١) يَأْمُرُنِي إِلَّا بِخَيْرٍ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn Mas'ood (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "There is no one of you but he has appointed to him a companion from among the jinn and a companion from among the angels." They said: Even you, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "Even me, but Allah helped me against him and he became Muslim, so he does not tell me to do anything but good.”
