حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ - أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ وَعُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ - قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: وَقَدْ بَلَغَ بِهِ أَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ: " مَنْ فَاتَهُ شَيْءٌ مِنْ وِرْدِهِ - أَوْ قَالَ: مِنْ جُزْئِهِ - مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَقَرَأَهُ مَا بَيْنَ صَلاةِ الْفَجْرِ إِلَى الظُّهْرِ، فَكَأَنَّمَا قَرَأَهُ مِنْ لَيْلَتِهِ " (٢) .،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Umar bin al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) - `Abdullah said:
My father attributed it to the Prophet (ﷺ) - said: “Whoever misses any part of his word or portion (of Prayer or Qur`an) at night and reads it between Fair prayer and Zuhr, it will be as if he read it at night.`
