Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْجَنَّةُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ شِرَاكِ نَعْلِهِ، وَالنَّارُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) said:
Prisoners would be brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he would give an entire family (to someone as slave), because he did not want to separate them.
