Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: قَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ: لَئِنْ رَأَيْتُ مُحَمَّدًا يُصَلِّي عِنْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ، لَأَطَأَنَّ عَلَى عُنُقِهِ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " لَوْ فَعَلَ، لَأَخَذَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِيَانًا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
Sa’d bin 'Ubadah asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about a vow that his mother had made and she had died before fulfilling it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Fulfil it on her behalf.”
