English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said.
Which of the two recitations do you think came first? They said: The recitation of ‘Abdullah. He said: No; rather it was the last one. The Qur'an was reviewed with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) once every year, and in the year in which he died it was reviewed with him twice, and 'Abdullah learned that, thus he knew what had been abrogated and what had been changed.
