Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: حَلَقَ رِجَالٌ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ، وَقَصَّرَ آخَرُونَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ " قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ: " يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ " قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ: " يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ " قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ: " وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ "، قَالُوا: فَمَا بَالُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ظَاهَرْتَ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمَةَ؟ قَالَ: " لَمْ يَشُكُّوا " قَالَ: فَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) travelled from Makkah to Madinah, not fearing anything but Allah and he shortened the prayer.
